Jeep Australia has revealed a range of new genuine accessories for its Gladiator ute.

These new accessories comprise a soft tonneau cover, a sports bar, and a RollTrac electrically operated aluminium roller cover. They can be purchased individually or in bundles.

All of these new accessories for the Gladiator are said to be locally developed and are now available to order at any of the 60 Jeep dealerships across Australia.

The soft tonneau cover has adjustable tension and a bungee system for transporting over-sized and bulky items. When it’s not needed, it can also be rolled and stowed away as well.

The sports bar is finished in a matte black powder coat and can be used to fit other accessories such as light bars and antennas.

When these two genuine accessories are paired together the soft tonneau cover is “custom-trimmed” around the legs of the sports bar to “optimise water management and ensure safe stowage of goods”.

The electrically operated Rolltrac roller cover comprises aluminium slats that are powder-coated in black.

The roller cover can be opened and closed with a push of a button from either side of the rear corners of the tub. It can also be paused anywhere through its range of motion with these buttons too.

There’s an anti-pinch function that automatically stops the roller cover once it detects a certain amount of resistance.

The electric roller cover’s wiring system is integrated straight into the vehicle’s electrical architecture, which has factory waterproof connectors and body grommets to ensure “seamless electrical operation” while preventing water from getting into the cabin.

At the front of the Rolltrac unit is a separate lockable storage box which can be used to stow valuables.

Prices for these new genuine accessories for the Jeep Gladiator are as follows:

  • Soft tonneau cover: $935
  • Sports bar and soft tonneau cover: $2424
  • RollTrac tonneau cover: $4617
  • Sports bar and Rolltrac roller cover: $5351

All prices include fitment and GST.

These new accessories bring Jeep’s genuine accessory range for the Gladiator ute to just over 60 in total.

Some of the existing genuine accessories Jeep offers include a front skid plate, cargo bed drawer system, canopy, roof racks, and a range of decals, among others.

Even more off-road-focused accessories can be purchased from dedicated off-road accessory companies such as ARB, and Ironman 4×4.

The 2022 Jeep Gladiator is priced from $70,550 before on-road costs for the Night Eagle, and extends to $79,250 before on-road costs for the Rubicon.

These prices recently went up between $2100 and $2350, depending on the variant, as part of a wider range price increase.

This was due to a “significant increase in material costs, coupled with ongoing supply chain issues,” according to a Jeep Australia spokesperson.

Powering the entire Jeep Gladiator range is a 3.6-litre naturally-aspirated V6 engine producing 209kW of power and 347Nm of torque. This is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

All Gladiators are four-wheel drive but there are two different systems. The Night Eagle uses Jeep’s Selec-Trac on-demand system while the Rubicon upgrades to the Rock-Trac on-demand system.

Rock-Trac adds locking front and rear differentials and Fox Performance shocks, plus the ability to electronically disconnect the front stabiliser bar.

Braked towing capacity for the Gladiator is 2721kg, while unbraked towing capacity is 750kg. The tow ball download limit is 272kg.

Gross combined mass (GCM) and gross vehicle mass (GVM) are 5601kg and 2880kg for the Night Eagle, respectively, and 5656kg and 2935kg for the Rubicon. Payload is 693kg on both models.
