North Lake fatal: Tyler Rowe still critical after crash that killed South Freo footy player Nick Campo

A teenager is still fighting for his life nine days after a horror crash in Perth’s south that killed his 18-year-old friend. Tyler Rowe was a passenger in a Toyota Hilux and was badly injured when it rolled and collided with a black Jeep Patriot SUV on Farrington Road in North Lake just before midnight on Saturday, July 13. The 18-year-old remained in a critical condition in the intensive care unit at Royal Perth Hospital on Monday morning. A friend of Tyler Rowe’s parents has set up a GoFundMe to help the family pay for medical bills and rehabilitation costs with more than $36,000 raised so far. “Praying that Tyler pulls through …It’s going to be a hard long road for Tyler,” Dijani Triscari said. Popular South Fremantle Colts footballer Nick Campo, who was also a passenger in the Toyota Hilux, was killed in the crash. On Saturday, his footy teammates took to the field in his honour and hundreds of people gathered at Community Bank Oval to watch Nick’s team run onto the field to take on the Subiaco Lions. Among those in the large crowd were Nick’s stoic parents Daniel and Bianca, who have pushed to get WA drivers to behave better on the roads in the wake of their son’s tragic passing. In a moving pre-game tribute, both sides lined up facing one another as a moment of silence was observed. The ground’s scoreboard was also dedicated to Nick on Saturday. It simply read: “RIP Nick Campo.” South Fremantle Football Club head of football Charlie Burke spoke pre-game, where he described Nick as a bright and much-loved member of the footy club. “Nick came through our talent pathway and was part of the Colts program over the past two seasons,” Mr Burke said. “Nick was a bright, young and talented footballer who loved the game and brought joy to everyone around him.”
