Power outage in Waroona after car struck lamp post

Western Power crews are working to restore power in Waroona after a car struck a lamp post on South Western Highway this morning.

Police were called to attend the crash about 8.30am near the corner of Millar Road.

The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, received only minor injuries.

A team from Western Power is currently on site to restore power to sections of the Waroona grid affected by the incident.

A Western Power spokesperson said electricity should be restored to affected customers by about 4pm.

“Fortunately there were no serious injuries,” the spokesperson said.

“Crews are on site no to first of all make the area safe and then work quickly to get power back on for customers.”
