A motorcyclist from Esperance is in intensive care at Royal Perth Hospital after a nasty crash involving an SUV.

Major crash investigation officers are investigating the crash, which unfolded in Castletown just before 5pm on Tuesday.

The motorcyclist’s black Honda bike and a black Hyundai Tucson collided at the intersection of Fisheries Road and Goldfields Road.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 19-year-old, escaped unharmed.

The 51-year-old was taken by ambulance to Esperance Hospital yesterday afternoon and then airlifted by the Royal Flying Doctor Service to the city.
