An eight-goal haul from Bethany Bond has led to another dominant display by South Bunbury who demolished Carey Park by 103 points.

South Bunbury and Carey Park went head to head at Hands Oval on Saturday during their round seven clash, where the Tigers were off to a flyer with four unanswered goals during the opening term.

Three of their four opening goals were kicked by Bond, while Gemma Wharton managed one of her own, leaving Carey Park scrambling to fight back.

Although the Panthers managed to put some pressure on South Bunbury, they struggled getting the ball forward.

South Bunbury continued their dominant start with a further three goals from Charli Wicksteed, Kate Fielding and Bond, while Carey Park were kept to just one behind.

At quarter time, South Bunbury led 7.1 (43) to 0.1 (1).

Carey Park’s slow start went from bad to worse as ruck Rani McMillan went down in the opening ruck contest, being helped off the ground with a suspected rib injury and concussion.

However, Karinda Farrant gave the Panthers some hope when she finally broke through South Bunbury’s strong defences with a goal which was later followed up with another major from Lana Bennett.

Despite Carey Park picking up intensity, South Bunbury were still in control of the match with Bond booting a fourth goal along with a second major from Fielding and a goal from Deekota Hill.

At half time, South Bunbury blew the lead out to 50 points.

The third quarter saw more quick driving from South Bunbury as they continued controlling the match with further goals from Hill, Fielding and Bond while Carey Park tried to keep up.

As South Bunbury continued ruling the field with Wharton pushing the margin out to 88 points, the Panthers were fading fast and kept scoreless for the quarter.

The final term looked more like a victory lap for South Bunbury as their domination around the contest continued, along with goals from Fielding and Sophie Turner placing the exclamation point.

Carey Park’s efforts to try to get the ball forward proved futile as they were kept scoreless for another quarter as South Bunbury walked away 18.8 (116) to 2.1 (13) victors.

Wicksteed, Bond and Fielding were named among South Bunbury’s best while the likes of Kandice Hart, Halle Phillips and Brooke Pepper were among the best for Carey Park.
