A crime scene has been set up in Wodonga, on the Victoria and NSW border, after a man was fatally injured in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Victorian homicide squad detectives launched an investigation after the man, who has yet to be formally identified, was attacked on Woodland St about 3am.

The man died at the scene.

Victoria Police say investigators are “keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage”.

The horror incident follows a string of alleged murders in Victoria this week.
