Free live jazz music will fill Market Square Park in Subiaco across three Saturday evenings as the Perth International Jazz Festival partners with the Subi Night Market.
The series opened on September 26, and musicians will take to the stage again on October 10, 17 and November 7.
Visitors can get dinner from the food market vendors, browse the stalls and settle in and enjoy live music under the stars.
City of Subiaco mayor David McMullen said the partnership was a natural fit for the Saturday night market.
“Subi Night Market is all about bringing people together to eat, explore and enjoy the atmosphere of Market Square Park, and live jazz adds another layer to that experience,” he said.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with the Perth International Jazz Festival to bring such a diverse line-up of talented musicians to Subiaco, and best of all, these performances are completely free.”
The Chris Foster Trio will take to the stage on October 10, performing original compositions and well-known favourites alongside fiery solos and soulful ballads.
On October 17, Australian-Brazilian singer-songwriter Juliana Areias will perform with the Bossa Nova Baby Trio, bringing Brazilian rhythms to Market Square park.
Areias has performed at venues and festivals such as the Sydney Opera House, Montreux Jazz Festival and Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London.
The series will conclude on November 7 with the Josh Gray/Aaron Deacon Trio, featuring Josh Gray and Aaron Deacon on guitar and Finn McKibbin on upright bass.
The trio will perform acoustic interpretations of classic jazz, ranging from upbeat swing to relaxed ballads.
Performances will run between 6.30pm to 8.30pm and are free to attend.
