A "intimate" new three-part documentary will explore how Kylie Minogue became one of pop music's biggest stars and see the singer open up about her life on Netflix.

The new documentary, titled KYLIE, will look at how "she reshaped pop and became one of music's most enduring icons" and is created by the team behind Netflix's David Beckham documentary, Beckham.

Featuring footage from home movies, personal photographs and new interviews with the singer herself, Netflix said it "examines how she's faced public scrutiny, personal loss, and illness with grit and grace, earning respect far beyond her own fandom".

The show will also feature insights from friends, family, and collaborators including her sister Dannii Minogue, Jason Donovan, Nick Cave and Pete Waterman.

The documentary will look at how the Australian star has reinvented herself from acting in Neighbours as Charlene Robinson - the role which first made her famous in the 1980s, to her chart-topping success as a singer across five decades and selling more than 80 million records.

The singer has spoken previously about receiving treatment for breast cancer after being diagnosed in 2005.

It is directed by Emmy and Bafta award winner Michael Harte and produced by John Battsek's Ventureland.

Further details, including a release date, will be announced at a later date, Netflix said.
