The Nathan and Nat radio duo are officially no more, with Perth’s Nova 93.7 on Monday unveiling a new name for its refreshed breakfast show line-up.

The station has rebranded its top-rated breakfast show to reflect longtime announcer Nathan Morris’ continued absence from the program.

But there is still no answer to the mystery of why he vanished from the airwaves in early 2025. The station is adamant he remains on the books, even though his face and voice are no longer linked to the breakfast show he helped launch 24 years ago.

Morris did make a brief on-air return in May last year, where he explained to listeners that he had been dealing with some legal issues.

“Something happened in my personal life that was one of these monumental things that happens that you can’t really process,” he said at the time.

“Something comes in that’s so different no one has gone through it, no one can give you advice.

“It started back last year and reared again this year. I can’t speak too much about it because there is legal proceedings that’s got nothing to do with me but I cannot speak about it because of that.”

Nathan and Nat have been synonymous with Perth FM radio since Nova started in WA in 2002 and the breakfast show has been Nathan, Nat and Shaun since the former Dockers captain made the move from football to radio in 2009.

The show is now known as Nat & Shaun with Joel Creasey.

Fellow host Natalie “Nat” Locke revealed the new name in the opening to Monday’s show, which was her first back from a break.

“We’ve got a shiny new show name that reflects what’s gone in at Nova for the last 18 months or so,” she said.

“It’s business as usual, but Joel Creasey officially in the title.”

A Nova spokesperson confirmed Nathan remained part of the network and was currently on leave.

“While we don’t have a timeframe for Nathan’s return, we continue to support him during his time away from the business,” they said in a statement.

“In the meantime, it’s important the name of the Nova 93.7 breakfast show reflects the voices our listeners hear each morning.

“From today, the show name will be updated to Nat & Shaun with Joel Creasey.”

Shaun is Fremantle Dockers legend Shaun McManus, who has been part of Nova’s breakfast show for more than 15 years.

Perth-raised comedian Creasey hosts his own national afternoon show on the network from the eastern seaboard.

The station said he will continue to do The Joel Creasey Show each weekday on top of his expanded Perth radio breakfast gig.
