IN PICTURES: Albany Youth Week’s colour, competitions and circus tricks with theme ‘Strength in Our Stories’

Youth Week brought together the scooter-riders, the skaters, the circus tricksters, the BMXers and the colour-runners as young people descended on Albany for a whole list of activities on Saturday. A State-wide jamboree, Youth Week is an annual event aimed at providing fun for young people across WA aged between 10 and 25. In Albany, the skatepark was purloined for competitions while the multi-use oval behind hosted the colour run and a market which contained goods for sale and free educational information. The theme was “Strength In Our Stories,” shining a spotlight on the diverse experiences of young people and the contribution they make to their communities. With the sun shining, those who took part or just watched would have had plenty of stories to tell.
