Twice in a week I have nearly had an e-bike and rider come over the bonnet of my car.
Coming out of a private driveway with visibility only when you are on the footpath and traffic to your right coming from Middleton Beach end which you have to be aware of, you do not see these people until it is too late.
These things should banned from all footpaths and supermarket areas before someone is killed or badly wounded.
Why is there no policing on this?
In my early youth days we all had pushbikes and we all rode them on the road, not footpaths.
Over the years the newer generations don’t actually care and believe they are correct.
I guess if I am unlucky enough to hit one of these things I will be in the wrong, and that is not correct and should not be.
Being in a retirement village in this vicinity is very dangerous and we have already had a tenant go to court for a similar situation with a gopher rider, and if that person had any courtesy at all they would have stopped.
E-bike riders are going too fast so they wouldn’t be able to stop.
