North Albany have strengthened their position at the top of the Lower Great Southern Hockey Association A-grade ladder with a 4-2 win over Manypeaks on August 20.

The Redbacks continued their strong season with Amelia Osborne, Stella Gordon, Beck Gallimore and Michelle Ericsson all finding the back of the net to secure another important victory.

Manypeaks fought back with goals from Kathryn Slattery and Darcy Ward, but North Albany maintained control to claim the win.

Gallimore, Gordon and Ericsson were among North Albany’s best performers, while Slattery, Hallee Temby and Nyiah Attwell were key contributors for Peaks.

The result leaves the Redbacks comfortably clear at the top of the ladder as the competition heads towards finals.

Spencer Park also picked up a much-needed win with a 3-0 victory over Mt Barker.

Lauren Spinks led the way for Park with two goals, while Amy Hall added the third to seal the win.

Rani Flynn, Stephanie Joy and Elsa Curwen were instrumental for Park, while Parsons, Sura Van den Heuvel and Zali Spencer were among Mt Barker’s best.

In the men’s fixture, North Albany defeated Spencer Park 3-1.

Lawson Terpstra scored twice for the Redbacks, while Jethro Wright added a third to put North Albany in control.

James Leiper scored Park’s only goal of the match.

Daniel Beech, Jonah Musitano and Astyn Temby were named among North Albany’s best, while Darren Parkes, Mitchell Pike and Tom Leaver were key contributors for Park.
