South Regional TAFE celebrated a night of academic excellence at its annual awards ceremony on Thursday, March 21.

Held at the Albany Entertainment Centre, the evening saw students attending from across the six Great Southern campuses.

Among the winners of the Great Southern campus student of the year awards were Ulysses Moore for the Albany trades, commerce, and environmental science campus and Kendell Smith, aka Bones, for the Albany community, health and education campus.

Having completed a certificate four in community service, Bones said it felt amazing to receive recognition for their efforts.

“It was so rewarding, being recognised for the hard work I’m putting in for my studies,” they said.

“It was really nice that my lecturers saw potential in me.”
