Police have withdrawn charges against two teens who were accused of abducting a 17-year-old girl near a school.

The girl was entering Keysborough Secondary College in Springvale South about 8.30am on June 26 when a male approached her, police alleged.

It was claimed the male forced her into a vehicle and fled.

Ayon Deng, 18, and a 15-year-old boy were charged over the abduction and faced court this week.

According to charge sheets released to the media, Deng was accused of abducting the girl "with intent on marrying ... without her consent".

He was also charged with unlawfully imprisoning her and detaining her "against her will".

But Victoria Police on Friday said they were withdrawing the allegations against Deng and the boy.

"Victoria Police can confirm that the Armed Crime Squad has withdrawn charges against two males for an alleged abduction of a 17-year-old girl in Springvale South," the statement read.

"All parties have subsequently been contacted to advise them of this development."

The police spokeswoman said any new information provided to officers would be "thoroughly assessed".
