VideoA Tik Tok video of Sam Wood appearing to joke about ‘strangling’ his wife has since been deleted from his social media.

Celebrity fitness guru Sam Wood appeared to joke about strangling his wife “to death” in a now-deleted TikTok posted before he was arrested and charged with domestic violence offences over the weekend.

In the video, the Bachelor star explained how he and his wife, Snezana Markoski, help one another to resist late-night food cravings.

“I like to clean my teeth because it signifies to myself it’s night over,” Mr Wood began the video.

“I talk to Snares and we support each other, I get her to hide all the stuff that I like from me and even if I’m strangling her to death she will not give it up.

This masthead does not suggest the video implies Mr Wood is guilty of the offences he is charged with.

Mr Wood, 46, was arrested on Saturday after police were called to a Noosa property where he was staying with his wife Snezana and their daughters following a report of an alleged domestic violence incident.

Queensland Police said a 46-year-old Victorian man was charged with the domestic violence offence of assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting.

“Officers attended a Hastings Street, Noosa address around 9pm Saturday after receiving reports of alleged domestic violence,” a police spokesman said.

“Police have charged a 46-year-old Victorian man with domestic violence offences early this morning, 4 October.”

The Bachelor star remained behind bars on Monday following his first court mention in Maroochydore Magistrates Court, where he did not appear himself.

The fitness personality’s lawyer requested the matter be adjourned to Thursday, with a bail application to be scheduled on that day.

The court developments come after Mr and Mrs Wood, who met on The Bachelor in 2015, publicly addressed the allegations together on Monday morning.

The family shared the same statement on both of their Instagram pages on Monday.

“This is a difficult time for all of us, we are working through this as a family and are thoroughly co-operating with the authorities,” they said, sharing the statement on both of their Instagram accounts.

Mr Wood was also stood down by his fitness and nutrition company 28 by Sam Wood, with the acting CEO releasing a statement regarding the accusations against its founder, declaring he had been relieved of his duties indefinitely.

“We have all been shocked and saddened by the matters involving Sam Wood,” the statement began.

“We have zero tolerance for domestic violence. While the matter is under investigation and before the court, Sam is on indefinite leave from his duties.

“Our thoughts are with the family and anyone in the community affected by domestic violence.”
