CBH leadership course coming to Katanning
Katanning has been announced as a host town for the second CBH Group Grass Roots Leadership Short Course, with applications now open to Great Southern growers.
The four-day course gives people in the industry the chance to develop their leadership skills after a successful launch in 2019, where 76 grain growers took part.
Katanning has been announced alongside Dongara, Dalwallinu and Esperance in the CBH Grower Advisory Council initiative.
GAC chairman Neville McDonald said the course was created to fill a gap in the market to develop leaders in regional WA at a grassroots level.
It is delivered by the Australian Institute of Management WA and the University of WA Business School’s Executive Education.
“There is huge demand for leadership courses in regional WA, and this was evident in last year’s Grass Roots Short Course, where we had more applications than we had places available,” he said.
“With that in mind, it was clear to the GAC the course should be offered again in 2020 and to also hold the course in new locations to provide as many growers as possible with the opportunity to build their leadership knowledge.
“The course is great for those interested in further developing their leadership skills but who may not yet be ready or able to commit to an intensive course that is traditionally offered in metropolitan areas.”
The course is open to all grower members and is subsidised by CBH, and all materials, meals and accommodation are included in the $400 fee. To register, visit cbh.com.au.
