The fun police were out in force in Jerramungup last week, but not in the way you might imagine.

Last Friday, Jerramungup police hosted a community pool party in partnership with the Jerramungup District High School P&C.

Officers were handing out fines at the event for children who were not having enough fun or making enough noise.

The pool party brought the community together and raised funds for Bendigo Bank’s National Bushfire Disaster Appeal.

Police raised $180 through gold coin donations and fines.

“Next year we’ll push for $200,” Acting Sgt Adam Winter said.

A sausage sizzle sent children home with big smiles and full stomachs.

Acting Sgt Winter said he wanted to make special mention of the generous support of Jerramungup IGA, Bremer Bay Resort, Bremer Bay General Store, Tobruk Cafe, Telegraph Cafe and Wellstead Museum and Cafe.
