Five people escaped serious injury when their four-wheel-drive and caravan rolled then went up in flames north of Katanning on Sunday. The crash happened about 4.15pm on the Great Southern Highway, near the intersection of Lime Lake Road East. Just after 4.30pm, firefighters reported that the blaze had spread to nearby scrub. The fire was extinguished within an hour but the vehicles were destroyed. A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said the five occupants were taken to Wagin District Hospital with minor injuries.
