IN PICTURES: Big turnout in Katanning as Wanderers community marks 100 years of football

About 500 people came together at the Katanning Leisure Centre on June 3 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Katanning Wanderers Football Club. Players past and present mingled with supporters, families and familiar faces buoyed by the Wanderers’ solid win against Wickepin in the league game on Quartermaine Oval earlier in the day. The leisure centre’s Pioneer Room soon filled with guests examining the memorabilia displays, sharing a drink and having a chat. About 7.30pm the crowd made its way down into the Ram Pavilion to listen to tales of the club’s past and memorable premierships. Later in the evening an auction of 50 Wanderer’s heritage jumpers was held and the Wanderer’s community continued to catch up and celebrate late into the night.
