Katanning police are targeting motorists who ignore stop signs, warning it is only a matter of time until someone is seriously hurt.

Sen. Sgt Carlos Correia said police would crack down on the reckless behaviour as roads become busier in the lead-up to Christmas.

“We have a lot of people screaming through stop signs at the moment and it’s just not on,” Sen. Sgt Correia said.

“It is dangerous and we are fearing someone will be seriously hurt.

“We will be targeting drivers who are failing to stop.

“They will be fined and it’s an expensive exercise around Christmas time.

“So stop at the signs and take care on the roads.”
