The Lions Cancer Institute will be providing free skin cancer screenings in Katanning on the last weekend in October. The mobile screening service will visit Katanning on Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30. If a lesion is identified, patients can be referred to a GP for investigation. The LCI has been providing screening clinics throughout WA since the early 1990s, screening more than 80,000, with a GP referral rate of 27 per cent. The Lions Club of WA is raising funds to replace two ageing screening units with one purpose-built unit. For booking information, call Tamara on 0407 932 288. Visit lionscancerinstitute.org.au.
