Gnowangerup Football Club has announced the appointment of former Katanning Wanderers Football Club assistant coach Roy Addis as the man to lead their league side in season 2020.

Addis, who was announced as the Bulldogs head coach last week, is no stranger to the Ongerup Football Association having played and coached at Kent Districts Football Club throughout the 1980s and 90s.

Most recently Addis had been an assistant with Katanning from 2016-2018.

The club won one premiership in 2017 before going through the 2018 season undefeated and then losing to Boddington in the grand final.

Addis was also vice-president of the Wanderers throughout that time.

The Bulldogs will be hungry to get back to the top after missing the grand final last year for the first time in five years.

Addis’ coaching experience will be a great boost for the Bulldogs, who won league premierships in 2015 and 2017.

The Bulldogs were knocked out of last year’s premiership race in the elimination first semifinal to Newdegate. The OFA season beings on April 18.
