The popular Wandecla Races, hosted by the Kojonup Polo and Polocrosse Club, is back for another year in Kojonup on Saturday, with strong crowds from all over the Great Southern expected to descend on the small country track.

The annual picnic races will be headlined by the $7500 Kojonup Cup, run over 1770m, which will be a part of a six-race card.

In true dirt racing style there will be a dash for cash, fashions of the fields plus champagne and kids lolly drops between races.

Gates open at 11am and the event will have on-course tote and bookmakers’ facilities available, while bar and canteen facilities will also be in action and there will be lots of entertainment throughout the day.

Courtesy buses will leave town at 11.30am and 1pm, and returning buses from the race course will be available at 9pm and midnight going back into town.

There is also plenty of camping ground provided on course. Entry is $20 for adults and $5 for children and under-10s get in free.
