Students from Pingrup Primary School enjoyed getting out and about on National Walk Safely to School Day last week. The national event encourages school students to walk to school on May 19 to raise awareness of the benefits associated with choosing to walk over driving in a car. The Pingrup Primary School students gathered at the local recreation centre before walking to school, where they were welcomed with a cooked breakfast. The day coincided with P&C Day WA, giving the students the opportunity to celebrate the members of their P&C with cards, medals, wrapping paper and presents they had made. Principal Katrina Carnicelli said the day was a great way to promote a healthy lifestyle and it left the students calling it the “best morning ever”.
