Man in his 50s taken to hospital after crash in Amelup, near Stirling Range National Park

One person has been taken to hospital after a serious crash near the Stirling Range National Park in WA’s Great Southern.

Emergency services were called to the crash, near the intersection of Chester Pass Road and Salt River Road, about 12.50pm on Friday.

Initial reports suggest a vehicle was travelling along Chester Pass Road when it left the road and struck a tree in Amelup, north of the Stirling Range.

It is understood a man in his 50s was seriously injured.

St John WA and Mt Barker Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service crews attended.

The RAC rescue helicopter was deployed to the crash scene before being stood down.

The man was taken to Albany Health Campus for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
