Shire of Katanning admin centre back to serve
The Shire of Katanning’s administration building reopened to the public this week after reducing its face-to-face services through the peak of the pandemic.
Shire of Katanning president Liz Guidera said the administration was open for business but staff and visitors needed to follow social distancing guidelines.
“Reopening of the administration centre is in line with the Premier’s recommendation for the opening up of business and sets a good example for other businesses that are allowed to open,” she said.
“It also makes it much easier for the community to access services, particularly transport and licensing.”
Ms Guidera said the May council meeting would be held online for the public, but councillors and staff could attend in person.
The council meeting procedure would be reviewed at the end of the month.
“Zoom meetings have worked very well over the last few months and I think will be a good tool for all to access meetings in the future,” she said.
The front foyer of the Shire’s administration building will be used as a waiting area, with customer service staff using internal access doors to limit visitors.
