Stellar performance from Devon Cristinelli guides Tambellup to comfortable victory and remain on top

A dominant performance from Devon Cristinelli guided Tambellup to a convincing victory in round nine of the Great Southern Cricket Association on Saturday. Tambellup maintained their advantage at the top of the table after the nine-wicket win over Australs Norths. Cristinelli starred with the ball and was well supported by Nathan Willmott before Cristinelli sealed the game with an unbeaten innings. Australs North batted first and were in trouble right from the start, as Nathan Willmott claimed two quick wickets to have them 2-10. Michael Dark and Kris Norris put together a handy partnership before the latter was dismissed by Willmott for 13 and then Dark was caught for 17. Australs North made their way to 6-70 before Cristinelli struck. Cristinelli claimed the last four wickets to bowl his opponents out for 85. He finished with the impressive figures of 4-2 off 2.2 overs while Willmott claimed 3-16 from six overs. Chasing 86 for victory, Tambellup openers Connor Hawkins and Jedd Herbert combined for 24 runs. Herbert was bowled for six before Cristinelli and Hawkins got their side across the line. Cristinelli finished unbeaten on 39 while Hawkins made 36 not out as their side posted 1-88 from 16.4 overs. Kendenup kept in touch with Tambellup at the top of the standings with a five-wicket win over Frankland River in Frankland. Batting first Frankland River were bowled out for 94 after 41 overs as Grant Egerton-Warburton top scored with 23 while Nathan Waterman chipped in with 21. Keegan Berry was the only multiple wicket taker claiming 2-11 off six overs. An early collapse left Kendenup 5-63 in reply, however, Ryan Ballard and Berry got their side out of trouble with a 39-run stand as they made 5-102 in reply. Ballard was unbeaten on 25 to go with contributions from Jarred Beech (20) and Berry (13 not out). Broomehill skipped clear in third place after defeating the fourth placed Wanderers by 94 runs in their clash at Quartermaine Oval. Batting first Broomehill posted 194 on the back of handy scores from Andrew Gibbons (40), Tyler Caldwell (40) and Ethan Caldwell (35). Peter Robertson tried his best with the ball for Wanderers claiming 4-52 while Elijah Quartermaine took 2-30. Wanderers were never able to recover from the loss of three early wickets as they were bowled out for 100 in reply despite a gallant innings from opener Kyle Sinclair who made 55. Jack Batchelor snared 4-8 and Ethan Caldwell took 2-5 in the win.
