Tambellup Gold have claimed the minor premiership and secured a place in the Central Great Southern Hockey Association men’s grand final, set to be held on Saturday, September 4.

Tambellup Gold’s Tom Kempin led the way with a strong on-field display to help them take down cross-town rivals Tambellup Black 2-1 on Saturday and cement their place on top of the ladder going into the finals series.

The form side in the competition, Kojonup are coming off a 4-0 victory against Katanning thanks to a stellar game from Tony Sandwell, and will face Tambellup Black in an elimination final this weekend.

If Tambellup Black prevail over Kojonup it will set up an all-Tambellup decider.

In the women’s CGSHA competition, a strong team effort helped Tambellup record a 4-0 win against Katanning’s second team to progress straight through to the grand final.

Kojonup defeated Katanning’s first side 5-0 courtesy of a strong game from Shaydn Gardner to set up a finals rematch in Broomehill in the first final this weekend.
