Tight battles highlight of basketball season return

The Katanning Senior Basketball Association started up again on Monday night after the holiday break with all 10 matches being played.

In the men’s league Woody Wombats 1 and 2 went to battle with Wombats 1 getting a 34 point win 58-24, Broomehill tamed Wildcats 2 with a 46-35 win and TA Rebels had a bye.

The two tightest matches of the round came from Cavaliers and Wildcats 1 where the Cavaliers walked away 1-point winners 48-47, and Clippers and Knights ended in a 63-all draw.

In the women’s league Lions 1 had quite a convincing win with a 77 point thrashing of Power Puff Girls 2 to end the game 90-13, Lions 2 had a comfortable 42-17 win over Power Puff Girls 1, Tammar and Broomehill had a tight but low scoring game with Tammar taking the 18-13 win, Cavaliers beat Tigers 72-21, Panthers had a win over Blue Birds 41-15 and Wildcats tamed Blazers 51-20.
