The smell of exhaust smoke drifted through Katanning streets last month as the Variety Creative Car Cruise made its way through town. The contingent arrived in Katanning on March 24 after starting the four-day cruise in York earlier that day. Day two started with a breakfast prepared by the Katanning Rotary Club at the All Ages Playground before a drive along Clive Street to Katanning Primary School to present a grant. Participants dressed up in 1960s fashion in the day, with many choosing to take on the hipster and alternative looks. The cruise travelled to Albany on Friday, before continuing to Manjimup on Saturday and finishing at the Old Coast Road Brewery near Bunbury on Sunday. It is not the only charity fundraiser to visit Katanning recently, with the Hawaiian Ride for Youth also passing through town last month.
