Wagin’s Trevor Patterson stole the show on hole five at the Lake View Golf Club in Dumbleyung last Sunday, achieving an elusive hole-in-one.

The club held an open day with 64 players turning up to compete in the 4BBB 27-hole Stableford competition.

The highlight of the event came from Patterson’s club.

After many years of attending the open day, he finally sank his first hole-in-one.

The feat was made even more special as his son, Mark, watched on and said, “I think you holed it, Dad”, and he was correct.

Long-time player Richard Kowald from Kowald’s News Lotto Glasshouse, the sponsor of the fifth hole, presented Patterson with his $200 cash prize and a trophy for his efforts.

Karl West and Wes Astbury were crowned the winners of the net competition on 69, ahead of Malcolm Roberts and Ross Gooding (68 net) and Daniel McDougall and Glenn Ball (67).

Shaun Malone won the elite gross title on a countback with 52 points.
