Woodanilling pair Annabel Paulley and Diana Pickford ‘chuffed’ to win back-to-back ABC Radio Nightlife quizzes

Two “quizzical” Woodanilling residents recently won ABC National Radio’s Nightlife Challenge, both putting their trivia skills to the test and winning the challenge within the same week. Annabel Paulley and Diana Pickford both won Nightlife Challenge fridge magnets last month, winning the Mighty Challenge Quiz and the Nightlife history quiz. Ms Paulley won the Mighty Challenge Quiz, correctly answering presenter Philip Clark’s final two questions. In a category called “famous Rosses”, she guessed that the USA flag was first created by Betsy Ross, and for the final question in a category called ‘Snacks’, she said the legume in hummus was chick peas. The same week, Ms Pickford called in to the Nightlife history quiz and took out the win by logically guessing that the strait of water under the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco was called the Golden Gate. Ms Pickford regularly texts and calls in to answer Nightlife quiz questions and has won a veritable collection of fridge magnets, but this was the first time Ms Paulley had won a magnet. Weekend Nightlife presenter Suzanne Hill commented that two residents of Woodanilling winning the quizzes so close together was a notable achievement for a small shire with a population of only 448 people. Both Ms Paulley and Ms Pickford said they were “pretty chuffed” about making Woodanilling famous on national radio.
