The gates to the Harvey Recreation Grounds will once again open this weekend as the Harvey Agricultural Show returns for its 104th year.

With less than a week to go until the celebrations kick off, Harvey Agricultural Society’s president Dom Fazzolari said the annual show was one the community always looked forward to and it brought everyone together.

“I think the Harvey show is an iconic event that has always been family friendly,” he said.

“It’s always been a very much agricultural central event.”

Having spent many years enjoying the annual show as an attendee and as part of the committee, Mr Fazzolari said it had grown and developed over the years from the original October show to the autumn show which everyone has since come to love.

“It’s grown in numbers, it’s grown in trades, it’s grown in interest,” he said.

Mr Fazzolari said it was a family-friendly event which had just about everything including animals, sideshow alley, stalls, agricultural machinery a fashion parade and more.

After about a 10-year hiatus, Mr Fazzolari said the sheep competition would also return for the 2026 show, while the dairy goat section had simply “exploded”.

Conscious of the cost of living, Mr Fazzolari said the show provided free activities such as the kids free zone which would include things like touch pools, a petting zoo and more.

“I know people have to pay to get in, but once they’re in, they can basically spend a whole day doing free activities,” he said.

“The kids free zone has just boomed since we started it a couple of years ago.

“There’s just lots and lots of activities and it’s just a great family-friendly event.”

Mr Fazzolari said he wanted to thank all of the sponsors, both big and small, who had contributed to this year’s show.

“They’re all valued and we recognise them all on show day,” he said.
