With the countdown officially on for the 2026 Harvey Agricultural Show, Harvey shire president Michelle Campbell says she is once again looking forward to the annual event.

Cr Campbell said the show was a wonderful opportunity for visitors and locals to come together and celebrate all the things that make the Harvey region special.

“The Harvey Agricultural Show is always a highlight on our community calendar, and there’s a real sense of excitement building as we head into the Anzac Day long weekend,” she said.

This year, Cr Campbell said she was especially looking forward to seeing the livestock displays.

“A highlight last year was the introduction of the Highland cattle,” she said.

“Having worked on a chicken farm in my youth, I’m also very prone to checking out the poultry section.”

Cr Campbell said while she had many great memories of the show from over the years, the strong sense of community never failed to stand out.

“Seeing families returning year after year and the incredible volunteer effort behind the scenes, it’s all very special,” she said.

“The fireworks and evening entertainment on the Friday night are a definite must attend.”

From celebrating Harvey’s agricultural heritage to showcasing local talent and giving people of all ages the opportunity to get involved, Cr Campbell said the show played a vital role in bringing the community together.

“Events like this strengthen community connections and highlight the pride we have in our region,” she said.

“I’d encourage everyone to come along and be part of the show.

“It’s a great way to support local businesses, volunteers and community groups.”
