Harvey product Donnell Wallam continued her strong start to the Super Netball season despite her Queensland Firebirds suffering an extra-time loss to the NSW Swifts on Sunday.

Wallam nailed 47 of her 53 shots — including four of her seven super shots — as the Firebirds went down 77-73 in front of their own fans at Nissan Arena, dropping their win-loss record for the season to 1-2.

She was on the receiving end of 14 goal assists from goal attack Tippah Dawn, with the pair’s attacking partnership continuing to flourish.

The Firebirds headed into the final break with a 53-45 advantage, but a 17-9 final term from the Swifts left the game tied up as the buzzer sounded, forcing the contest into two five-minute periods of extra time.

After quickly falling behind, Wallam was forced into some unsuccessful late super shot attempts as her side chased the game.
