Chemical spill from truck hauling multiple trailers closes Goldfields Highway at Ora Banda Road for hours
Kalgoorlie police and emergency services were called to a trailer rollover on Goldfields Highway near Ora Banda Road about 8am on Thursday to clean up a chemical spill.
About 25km from Kalgoorlie-Boulder, towards Menzies, one trailer on a truck hauling multiple trailers rolled, causing both lanes of traffic to be closed for several hours.
A WA Police spokesperson confirmed the driver had no injuries.
A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson confirmed Kalgoorlie-Boulder Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene to clean up the chemical which spilled out of the trailer.
The emergency services crew had to wear breathing apparatuses to apply absorbent material to the hazardous spill.
One lane was reopened about 1pm while two crews were still onsite tending to the scene.
