Doughty bags four majors as Diorites tame Panthers

Shayden Doughty kicked four goals last Saturday to underpin Mines Rovers’ 74-point victory against Railways, 13.19 (97) to 3.5 (23), in the Goldfields Football League’s colts division.

Doughty was supported by Alex Falla’s three goals and two from Kasey Murison that powered the Diorites’ nine-goal second half.

Railways were within 18 points at the long break, but they added just 1.1 the rest of the way.

Chris Donaldson was the Panthers’ leading forward with two goals.

A colts general bye applies this weekend because of the GFL’s participation in the annual Great Southern Carnival in Kulin.

In last weekend’s reserves matches, Jacob Potts kicked five goals in Mines Rovers’ win against Railways, 7.18 (60) to 3.5 (23).

Railways led by 12 points at half-time, but failed to add to their score.

Lewis Johns booted eight goals when Boulder beat Kambalda, 20.22 (142) to 1.1 (7).
