Father-son duo combine for four winners last Sunday at the KBRC

Trainer Luke Fernie made inroads into the dominance of his in-form father, albeit minimally after Peter Fernie landed a winning treble last Sunday at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Racing Club.
The elder Fernie has blitzed his rivals this season and that success continued when Hidden Ruby ($1.55 favourite) won race one over 1200m.
Rival trainer Brett Drury was successful with Moriah ($5) in race two, as was Luke Fernie with Lightning Gold ($4.80) in the third.
But it was short-lived when Peter Fernie-trained Talk It Up ($2.20 favourite) capped off a fine ride from Lucy Fiore by winning the $24,000 Goldfields Stockfeeds Mayoral Cup (1100m).
Stablemate Dunbar ($5) was third, behind the Rickie Brown-trained Mungo Jerry ($3.40).
Peter Fernie’s treble was completed in the last race over 1612m when Ryewood ($2.10) – also with Fiore aboard – easily beat Kallaroo.
Fiore rode three winners after earlier piloting Lightning Gold.
Mark Forder (Symphony In Red) and Prince Tikea (John Doyle) trained a winner apiece.
