Efforts by the Goldfields Football League to ensure the long-term viability of its women’s program include a girls’ gala event at Sir Richard Moore Sports Centre on December 10.

The event is being put on by the GFL in conjunction with Country Football WA and includes separate skills sessions for junior girls (eight to 12 years) and youth girls (13 to 17-year-olds).

Junior girls will engage in a full program of developmental activities from 9am to 10.15am, followed by the youth girls’ session from 10.30am to 11.45am.

All participants can win a pair of boots signed by West Coast Eagles AFLW captain Emma Swanson.

The GFLW moves into its fourth season in 2024 with all five senior teams represented.
