Norths’ march towards the men’s A1 minor premiership in the Eastern Goldfields Hockey Association continued last weekend, despite a close call against Pegasus.

In a match-up of first versus fifth, Pegasus faced the division’s toughest assignment and generally fared well in an eventual 4-3 scoreline that extended Norths’ record to eight wins against two draws.

Pegasus remain at the foot of the standings with one win — chalked-up against YMHC in round eight.

CBC remain entrenched in second place after they last weekend outplayed YMHC, 4-0.

Despite four losses on their record, CBC are two wins clear of third-placed Mines.

In the women’s A1 competition, Norths trounced YMHC, 7-0, to edge within a point of first-placed CBC, who were gifted a sixth consecutive win when Mines forfeited last weekend.

After losing three of four games earlier in the season, Norths have hit back to win their past two.
