A regional WA couple are planning a move to the coast — and a good old Aussie steak — after winning a life-changing $1.13 million Saturday Lotto jackpot.
The couple, who have played Lotto for about 30 years, said they had a feeling their luck was about to change before buying their winning ticket.
“I said to my husband before he left for work, ‘I reckon we’ll win Lotto today’,” the winner said.
The couple won the division one prize in the August 15 Saturday draw with a System 5 ticket bought from Paraburdoo Lotteries and News.
They said they always played a System 5 ticket, regardless of which Lotto draw they entered.
Their first plans are to find a new home near the beach.
“We can finally call somewhere home and can buy ourselves a place near the coast,” the winner said.
“But first up we’ll head out to get a good old Aussie steak to celebrate.”
Lotterywest spokeswoman Hermione Stott said System tickets covered multiple number combinations, meaning winning entries would usually collect multiple prizes.
“Saturday Lotto is played by selecting six numbers,” she said.
“By choosing a System ticket, this allows you to choose fewer or more numbers than are drawn, generating every possible combination for your chosen numbers from a single ticket.”
The win is the eighth Saturday Lotto division one win recorded in regional WA for 2026.
The lucky Paraburdoo win comes as another major prize is up for grabs, with this weekend’s Saturday Lotto Superdraw offering a $20 million jackpot.
