The title-winning open seniors team were among 70 Narrogin and Districts Netball Association players and officials who attended the 2026 Fuel to Go and Play Association Championships held at the Gold Netball Centre over the June long weekend.

The players joined about 3000 other netballers from all over WA for three days of competition, which was played in both blazing sunshine and pouring rain.

An early morning start was in order for the 12-and-under division with the team thriving early.

The 12-and-under team had convincing wins over Tom Price and Manjimup on day one.

In their first ever semi-final, the girls toughed out their game against Katanning going down 10-7.

The Heat of Gold award was presented to Georgia Armstrong for her unwavering defence work over the weekend and inspirational attitude.

The girls were slow to adjust to the intensive pressure of the ANZA Vipers going down 21-9.

With all of their games cancelled on Sunday due to the Department of Fire and Emergency Services weather warning, the girls were keen to hit the court Monday morning.

In an exciting game, the girls faced off against Eastern Hills, going down 16-13.

Estella Guest was given the Heart of Gold award for her relentless speed and attack on the ball in all positions.

The grand final saw NDNA take on Broome in an intense and physical game.

The lead changed several times over the duration of the game with both teams giving it their all, but in the dying minutes, Broome were able to secure the win, 19-17.

Marley Steere was given the Heart of Gold award with a stellar performance over the weekend in goals, with accurate shooting and intensive pressure on her defenders.

The 16-and-under girls came out of the blocks strong on the first day of competition, winning their first two games. Unfortunately, in doing so one of their key shooters sustained a nasty injury.

Day two was a mixed bag with a game cancelled due to weather, a win and a loss.

However, the girls dug deep and earned themselves a spot in the grand final against Donnybrook, who proved to be much more experienced in the wet and capitalised on the turnovers.

Imogen McInnes was awarded the Gold Industry Group medallion for her development and positive attitude over the tournament.

The 20-and-under girls showed their high skill levels over the weekend, starting with strong wins over Northam and Rockingham.

With games cancelled on early on Sunday morning, the team then dug deep to notch up another win against Eastern Hills in wild conditions.

An older and more experienced Esperance handed the team their first loss of the tournament, but NDNA bounced back with another close game, getting the win over Joondalup 20-17.

With an intense and physical game against Eastern Goldfields, NDNA couldn’t quite claw back an early lead, going down 15-11.

An incredible effort from a young team who showcased skill, grit and tenacity against some much more experienced players.

The open team played four games over the weekend, playing two games on Saturday against Donnybrook and Eastern Hills and winning both.

All games on Sunday afternoon were abandoned due to the wild weather.
