Wagin Home Care clients celebrate service provider’s new home with ribbon-cutting and concert

It was a double treat for Wagin on Monday as the community celebrated the official opening of the new Wagin Home Care offices with a special screening of last year’s Narrogin Hay Bales Concert. A big crowd, including WHC clients, staff and community members, gathered to mark the occasion in the town centre on Tuesday, April 9 and to see Shire of Wagin president Phil Blight cut the ribbon. The shire-administered WHC in-home support service has been helping residents of the shires of Wagin and West Arthur to maintain their independence for more than three decades. Previously housed at the Shire of Wagin administration building, WHC’s new home in the Wagin Lesser Hall provides room for client meetings, separate working areas, and space for training and lunch facilities. In November, Arts Narrogin organised a special excursion for the clients of eight Wheatbelt South aged care services to take a sneak peek at the Perth Symphony Orchestra Narrogin Hay Bales Concert. After the tour, clients escaped the heat at Arts Narrogin with afternoon tea and performances by some of the concert participants. At the WHC opening, the concert was screened for the guests, much to their delight.
