Tristan Charles Clarke, 35, admits to trafficking 115g of meth in Coolgardie

A Kalgoorlie-Boulder man has admitted to trafficking 115g of methamphetamine with intent to sell and supply after being caught in Coolgardie earlier this year. Tristan Charles Clarke pleaded guilty to the charge and a string of other drug-related charges in Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court on Thursday. The 35-year-old appeared via videolink from Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison, with the February 2 trafficking matter committed to Kalgoorlie District Court later this year. The remaining six charges, including possession of less than half a gram of meth, smoking implements and a shock weapon disguised as a torch, were dealt with on Thursday. Clarke’s defence lawyer appeared via audio link and said the items were found in a home Clarke shared with others but he accepted full responsibility. Magistrate Paul Lyons said it was a “good thing” he accepted responsibility as he had a lot of drug convictions on his record. He fined Clarke $700 for the offences and ordered destruction of the drugs and smoking implements and forfeiture of the shock weapon. No bail application was made, with bail already being refused at an earlier appearance.
