Arson Squad detectives are investigating a suspicious fire that caused $250,000 damage to a Munster home on Wednesday.

The Shelley Avenue home went up in flames about 3pm causing “extensive damage” to the property before the Department of Fire and Emergency Services extinguished the blaze.

The brick and tile home has been left gutted - it’s scorched structural beams now prominently hanging over the front of the house.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au. They are particularly interested in dash-cam vision or CCTV of the area around the time of the fire.

Authorities were also called out to a structure fire in Broome overnight, when a sheet caught alight at a Guy Street property about 9.35pm.

The fire is understood to have been accidental and caused minor damage.

Initial reports suggested the occupants were trapped inside, however, police have confirmed no one was inside or injured during the incident.
