Department of Justice staff are trying to coax three teenagers down from the roof of Banksia Hill Juvenile Detention Centre

Vision captured by the 7NEWS helicopter showed teens armed with bricks as they jumped across the roof of the facility on Friday afternoon.

It is unclear what time they scaled the facility, which is understood to have been damaged during the ordeal.

A spokesperson for the department said staff were “monitoring the situation”.

“There is no risk to the wider public,” they said.
