Lucy Harrison: British tourist, 23, shot dead by dad after argument about Trump while on holiday in Texas

A 23-year-old British woman was shot dead by her father after the two had an argument about Donald Trump, an inquest heard.
Lucy Harrison, was visiting her father, Kris Harrison, and his family in the Texas suburb of Prosper when the tragedy occurred.
On January 10, 2025, Ms Harrison was fatally shot in the chest from “medium range” by her dad.
Police in Prosper investigated the case as a possible manslaughter, but in June last year, a grand jury in the US concluded that no one would be prosecuted over the 23-year-old’s death.
According to evidence given by Ms Harrison’s boyfriend, Sam Littler, who witnessed the crime, a “massive” argument kicked off between the father and daughter about President Trump, who was to be inaugurated later that month.
“Kris and Lucy ended up having quite a big argument which led to Lucy running upstairs and being upset,” Mr Littler said.
He added that Ms Harrison had asked her father: “How would you feel if I was the girl in that situation and I’d been sexually assaulted?”
According to Mr Littler, Mr Harrison said he had two other daughters who lived with him so it would not upset him that much.

That same day, half an hour before the couple were due to leave for the airport, Mr Harrison grabbed his daughter’s hand and led her from the kitchen to his ground floor bedroom.
Mr Littler said only 15 seconds had passed, before a loud bang was heard and Mr Harrison screamed for his wife, Heather.
“I remember running into the room and Lucy was lying on the floor near the entrance to the bathroom and Kris was just screaming, just sort of nonsense,” he told the court.
Mr Harrison did not attend the two-day court hearing, but said in a statement that he had bought the weapon to give his family a “sense of security.”
He added that he was watching a news segment on gun crime with his daughter when he asked her if she wanted to see the weapon.
Mr Harrison, who admitted to drinking wine earlier in the day, said: “As I lifted the gun to show her I suddenly heard loud bang. I did not understand what had happened. Lucy immediately fell.”
Evidence heard at the inquest contradicts this, however, as Mr Littler recalled his girlfriend often becoming upset with her dad for owning a gun.
No criminal charges have been brought against Mr Harrison.
