Bunbury is unbeaten and in the box seat to seal a third straight top-division country week title.

The South West powerhouse has won all three of its matches this week and have a stranglehold over the tournament again.

That included defending 172 in a 60-over match against a strong Geraldton side on the opening day and chasing down the 118 set by fancied Upper Great Southern.

They sealed top spot by rolling West Pilbara for just 53.

Albany joined them at the top of the table with a victory over Eastern Goldfields on Wednesday.

Samuel Keeling-Wright made an unbeaten 66 in a monster score of 290 to smash Esperance in their opening game, but wasn’t required to bat as three players — including gun opener Lincoln Joy — made half-centuries as they backed it up with 5-272 against Busselton Margaret River.

Bunbury are also in control of the B-Section tournament and late on Wednesday were locked in a tight battle with Peel, with the winner set to take top spot.

Eastern Districts also went three from three and will feature prominently in finals.

It comes after Bunbury scored 9-243 from their 50 overs to beat Albany by 36 runs in the top division of junior Country Week.

Matthew Allen scored 88 in their victory at the WACA Ground last week in the under-16’s, while Bunbury were beaten by South West neighbours Wellington in the final of the under-14 tournament.

Senior finals will be played on Thursday and Friday, but the final has been bumped from the WACA for Friday’s Women’s National Cricket League match.
