Big crowd watches grand final action

Katanning Netball Association ended the season on a high — with more than 700 spectators watching the grand final unfold on Saturday, September 9.

The seniors competition was made up of 17 teams of dedicated netballers and volunteers — 11 teams from Katanning, one from Dumbleyung, three from Kojonup, one from Broomehill and one from Tambellup.

All Stars 1 were the dominating division one winners, beating Kojonup 1 60-42, with best on court awarded to Leanne Eades.

The Olympians won their division two grand final after a nail-biting tie against Dumbleyung ended with a 58-55 scoreline in the final decider.

Kirsty Flugge’s stand-out season earned her Best on Court and Best and Fairest for division two.

Mikayla Zilm earned her place as division one Best and Fairest, with the division three title awarded to Kaylee Kingi.

The junior competition consisted of four teams from Katanning, one from Tambellup and one from Kojonup.

Landmark Firebirds finished first on the ladder after their win over QFH Vixens 30-25 with fairest and best going to Aaliyah Hall.

Fairest and Best for the season went to Annie-Rose Julius with Kiara Taylor picking up runner-up as well as best junior playing in the senior competition.
