Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, Nick Blakey, Riley Bice and James Jordan return to Sydney Swans HQ to address team

For the first time since they sent their club into crisis and ultimately derailed their finals campaign, the members of the ‘Pullman Five’ will address their Sydney Swans teammates.

Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, Riley Bice, James Jordon and Nick Blakey arrived at Swans HQ on Wednesday after Sydney’s season came to an end after Fremantle’s stunning preliminary final comeback.

The players have been kept separate from the club since the incident at the Pullman Hotel after their round 23 win over Essendon, and none have made any public statements as Victoria Police continue their investigation into an alleged sexual assault.

Heeney broke that silence on the way into the club.

“I’m looking forward to addressing the playing group,” Heeney told a waiting pack of reporters as he arrived.

Warner was the only other player to speak, where he said he was unsure of whether he would apologise to the playing group.

“I don’t know, we’ll wait and see,” he said

“I’m just here for my exit interview.”

Blakey, Bice and Jordon did not speak to reporters as Swans executive general manager of football, Leon Cameron, met the players as they walked into the club doors.

It comes as the future of the players remains up in the air, with multiple reports that Blakey could be seeking a trade as he considers a fresh start at another club.

Earlier, Swans CEO Matthew Pavlich said there would be no timeline on when the players would formally return to the club.

“I want them to come in and do what we’d normally do at the end of a season, which is, yeah, player exit meetings,” he said on Wednesday morning.

“If they’ve got something to say to their player group, if they’ve got something to say to the club, then we’ll hear them out then.

“The players at some point will have a chat to the broader group and the club, but yeah, there’s no timeline.”
